Youth in Montenegro and Slovenia: A Comparative Analysis of Sociopolitical Values and Behaviour

[cusrev_reviews_rating color_stars="#FFBC00" product="108607" group="false"]

ENGLISH:

This monograph is the first to systematically compare young people in Slovenia and Montenegro, providing an in-depth analysis of their values, attitudes, and behaviours. Despite the different post-socialist paths of the two countries, the research reveals that youth in both nations face remarkably similar challenges. Combining empirical rigour with theoretical depth, the book is an invaluable resource for scholars, policymakers, and anyone interested in the future of youth in transition societies.

The monograph is the first in the world to systematically examine and compare young people in the Slovenian and Montenegrin contexts, providing a comprehensive analysis of their values, attitudes, and behaviours. One of the key themes across the diverse topics addressed is that, despite the different post-socialist paths taken by the two countries after the dissolution of Yugoslavia, young people in both nations, although differing in economic, cultural, political, and broader social characteristics, nonetheless face similar challenges and difficulties. At the same time, an important contribution of the monograph lies in its emphasis that the outcomes and experiences of young people are complex and largely dependent on the broader socio-political context.
